JANINE GRAHAM
My work focuses primarily on emotions and how they are affected by the wonders of nature;
our fear of the cataclysmic typhoon, memories and appreciation of a landscape or portrait
or wonder at the opening of flowerbud.
The focus is not on nature itself but our reaction in the face of it.
Most forms are displayed in some pattern, rhythm or repetition,
appealing to the basic rhythm of life; the heartbeat.
For me , being an artist means that it affects every part of my life,
you are either an artist or you are not, my creativity cannot be
turned off, whether I am working in the studio or walking on the beach.
I believe that one should use all the senses when exploring a subject,
and I paint, sculpt, photograph, install, touch, listen and taste when
examining a subject.’
